Do you love everything Fixer Upper? Have you wanted to go to Magnolia Market but haven’t had time to get away? Guess what? There’s an amazing place in Schulenburg, Tx that gives the silos a good run for its money. The Garden Company is about an hour west outside of Houston and is the perfect place for you eat lunch, find some herbs and vegetables, and get that “on the farm” feeling.
On my way to Fredericksburg, TX last month for a wedding, I stopped in for lunch. From the website, I could tell the place was cute, but it is so much more than that in person. It is the perfect place to drink a glass of sweet tea and spend an hour wandering around in the gardens.
They have everything you could want for lunch – pizza, salads, sandwiches, and soups. Their menu is extensive, but I settled on having the tomato basil soup and grilled chicken sandwich. Not only did both arrive to the table looking oh-so-pretty, but they also tasted amazing (and that’s not just the hungry traveler being stuck in the car talking).
If you ever find yourself going west, stop at The Garden Company. It’ll be just the relaxing spot you need in order to unwind, shop for some herbs and flowers, and get a quick bite to eat.
