What’s brunch without mimosas? Not a brunch at all, I say! But why stick with the same old drink at a party when you can liven it up by having a mimosa bar? Below, I’ll talk about a few tips on how to pull off an awesome mimosa bar!
Champagne. First up, the bubbly. You’ll need about 1 bottle per 6 glasses. However, I would rather have more champagne than I need, so I tend to purchase a little more than the number of people I’m expecting. I also provided a sparkling cider for those who don’t or can’t drink.
Juice. Next comes the juice. I chose to provide a wide assortment of juices – these being the traditional orange juice, cranberry juice (for a poinsettia), grapefruit juice (for a megmosa), and pineapple juice. based on what was left over at the end of the party, the pineapple juice was the clear winner with orange juice running a close second place. I served the juices in wine decanters that I found at Goodwill. You can pay full price for them, but always check the thrift shops first.
Berries. What’s a cocktail without a garnish? Allow your guests to mix and match their drinks with this berry assortment. I chose to provide strawberries, blackberries, raspberries, and blueberries. I love the assortment of color it provides as well. Looking back, I would have provided some orange slices as well since we had so many citrus options.
Decor. Champagne is not typically served with a straw, but when the party is flamingo and pineapple themed and there’s cute pink flamingo straws, you use them. Housing the juice options in this threshold wire basket was the perfect way to keep it all together. Then I added these little flamingo and pineapple backed name cards so the guests knew what juice was what flavor. I then added some tropical green leaves and a framed pineapple print to the table to make it a little more festive.
I hope you try a mimosa bar at your next event! It’s a great way to get your guests interacting and having fun!
