For as long as I can remember, my family and I have gone to Froberg’s for our fruits and vegetables. They were never as cheap as the traditional grocery stores in town, but there is nothing better than going to the source to get your fresh produce. Though the property has changed and grown over the years, I still keep going back – and now I get to enjoy this favorite past time with my own family.
While they have many activities throughout the year, their annual strawberry picking season is my absolute favorite. My kids love picking the strawberries right off the vines (or bushes? whatever) and seeing how many they get in their buckets. This year, I couldn’t wait to go! So I went without them. Ha!
The buckets you collect the strawberries in are reusable from year to year and you pay by the pound, so you decide how much you want to get! The picking season runs from January until May each year, so make sure you head south of Houston to Froberg’s Farm.
I also have to make sure to get sausage from Greak’s Smokehouse. I highly recommend the jalapeno cheese.
