This year, I had the opportunity to head out to the Katy area of Houston, TX and attend the Katy Home & Garden Show. There were over 300 vendors there, as well as a lineup of knowledgeable speakers. There were two buildings full of businesses to talk with as well as several food trucks in the parking lot to keep your belly full while we looked around. I got a cake ball from Angie’s Cakes and they were soo good! They had speakers who talked about backyard pools, vegetable growing, recipe ideas, but the main headliner for the weekend was Chris Lambton. Chris is the host of DIY network’s “Yard Crashers” and HGTV’s “Going Yard“. I had the opportunity to sit down and talk with him about the best plants that grow in this area, ways to hide ugly aspects of your yard, and how to keep pets off those pretty plants! He was so knowledgeable and a really nice guy.
