3 Hacks You Should Know Before Going to a Houston Astros Baseball Game

There’s a reason why baseball is America’s favorite past time. It’s good clean fun and people of all ages love it – especially when the Houston Astros are winning. As someone who has been to quite a few games in her lifetime, I can tell you than major league baseball has changed a bit over the last few decades. Seat prices have increased, amenities have been added, and food options are limitless! So with all these changes afoot, I thought I’d highlight a few ways you can save a few dollars and see what Minute Maid Park has to offer!

Eat cheap. Every Wednesday night home game, hot dogs are just $1! Chili and cheese aren’t included, but you can’t beat getting a hot dog for a dollar!

Cheap seats don’t have to hold you back. Just because you can’t afford tickets behind home plate doesn’t mean you can’t have a great time at the ballpark! One of my favorite hacks is buying super cheap seats (the cheapest I’ve found are $8) and then going to the Budweiser/Torchy’s Tacos area and sitting there. They have picnic style tables, which are perfect for stretching out a bit – and you can never go wrong with Torchy’s.

Kid stuff. Baseball games were meant for kids. Is it your child’s first game? Take them to Fan Accommodations (at sections 112 or 323) for a certificate to celebrate the big day! Also, every Sunday home game is called “Family Sunday” where your kids can actually run the bases after the game! They also have the “Baseball Buddies” program, where you can pay $30 and get your kiddos a backpack, hat, and 4 tickets to a game!

Bonus Hack. Have ever been to a game, looked around and thought, why do all of these people have matching foam fingers? Chances are, they were one of the 10,000 first people in the door and they got one of the freebies the park was giving away! Before you head to the game, check here to see what the current promotion is for the day!
