5 Things I Learned at the Toast & Twirl Workshop

I have this super talented friend, Lauren, and she is the hostess and colorful event extraordinaire over at Toast From the Host. She has this annual event, Toast & Twirl Workshop, where she creates over the top designed events with fun activities, crafts, and tons of delicious food.

I’ve been lucky enough to attend every single one of her workshops and this year was my favorite she’s done so far. The theme was Palm Springs and it was absolutely fantastic! From the moment I walked into the venue (Latitude Med Center Apartments), I was instantly transported into a tropical oasis.

Art is Easier than I Thought

I am always so impressed by modern abstract art. It looks so effortless, yet I know that the painters and artists spent hours working on their pieces. Doodler and seriously fun artist Callie Danielle led an abstract art class that showed us all how to take globs of paint and turn it into our own masterpiece. I just love how everyone’s pieces reflected their own unique personalities!

There Are No Rules In Mixology

Sam and Sarah from Palace Party showed us how to make three different cocktails using their made-from-scratch juices and garnishes. While we had recipes to follow, the ladies encouraged us to add as much or as little as we liked to our beverages. We got to play mad scientist and it was so fun coming up with our own mixes of ingredients!

Rope Doesn’t just Belong in a Hardware Store

Before Pop Shop America showed me, I had no idea you could do so many different home décor projects with rope! She showed us how to make coasters and chargers and jazz them up with thread and pom poms to make them our own. How cute are these?

Photo Booths Make Everyone Unsure of Themselves

Life of the Party brought their mobile photo booth and let me just say, being cute and spontaneous is harder than it looks! Ha! Strike 4 different poses in 10 seconds? You try it!

Flowers and Fruit Make the Perfect Pair

Last and never least, Amanda Bee’s Floral Design knocked this Palm Springs theme out of the park! She combined fresh citrus, palm leaves, and a few buds and made them into some truly beautiful works of art! Her Toast & Twirl palm leaf wall and the citrus centerpiece may be some of my favorite designs she’s ever done.

Overall, everyone had such a great time learning and laughing together! I can’t wait to see what Lauren has up her sleeves for next year!
