After experiencing a week long Disney trip, we learned a few things about what’s helpful to bring with you to the parks. Not only can you bring in your food and drinks, but these handy items are great to bring with you as well:
Magic Bands
Starting at $15, you can purchase these bands from Shop Disney that will allow you to essentially wear on your wrist your tickets to the park, keep track of your fast passes, and (if staying on Disney property) pay for any purchases made.
Clips for Magic Bands
Magic Bands are one size fits all, so my husband and my 3 year old wore the exact same size. Which, isn’t an issue, but in having only one latch on the bands, I was afraid we would lose the bands entirely. So I found these awesome little clips on amazon for super cheap (less than a $1 a piece) and they were really great for making sure our kids didn’t lose their bands and they stayed on their wrists securely.
Waterproof Fanny Packs
The last thing I wanted to do was cart around a bunch of stuff to the parks. For starters, it will take you longer to get through security and into the park if you have a bunch of bags. But then also walking around Disney, you won’t want to have to hassle with the bags when you’re getting on rides and such. These fanny packs are great because they are big enough to hold your phone, keys, and a couple credit cards and cash (without being bulky and in the way), you can go on rides with them since they’re clipped to you, and they’re water proof (you know, for rides likes Splash Mountain) so your phone and such won’t get ruined while you’re out having fun.
Rain Ponchos
South Florida weather equals humidity and, more often than not, an afternoon rain shower. It doesn’t usually last long, but if you plan on moving around the parks without getting drenched, you’ll want to bring a couple of these rain ponchos with you. I recommend getting some of these, that way they’re cheap, do their job, and then you can trash ’em once you leave the park.
Mickey Mouse Ears
These ears are a must if visiting the parks for the first time – and especially if you’re going to the magic kingdom. Donning these fun accessories are the perfect way to be a kid for a day and play dress up. And with all of the amazingly creative ears that are available out there, you’re sure to find some really cool ones. I found some really unique ones on Etsy, but you can also buy some in the parks as well.
