A Taste of the Florida Keys & Their Famous Key Lime Pie Recipe

May 3, 2017

Last week, I had the opportunity to attend an event for the Houston Food Blogger Collective called “A Taste of the Florida Keys“. It was a small event showcasing what the Keys have to offer tourists – complete with regional foods, a key lime martini, and a champion conch blower. It was a lot of fun! Here’s a few photos from the event.

Florida Keys’ Famous Key Lime Pie Recipe

Ingredients:

  • One 9-inch graham cracker pie crust
  • One 14-ounce can sweetened condensed milk
  • 4 egg yolks
  • 4 ounces of Key lime juice

Step One. Blend milk and eggs yolks at slow speed until smooth. Add Key Lime juice and finish blending.

Step Two. Pour into pie crust and spread evenly. Bake in 350 degree preheated oven for 15-20 minutes. Allow to cool 20 minutes and then put in the refrigerator for two to three hours. Serve chilled with whipped cream topping or meringue.
