Right on Buffalo Bayou in the middle of the park, you’ll find a small driveway leading to a wonderful oasis. This uniquely designed building is home to The Kitchen in the Dunlavy. It is a sweet little cafe that is open for breakfast and lunch, with gourmet options for you to choose from.
They grow their own herbs for their dishes, so before you even get to the front door you’re hit with the aroma of fresh rosemary and parsley. It’s counter-service, but if you’re lucky like I was, an employee will come along and play a little tune on the piano while you wait. Would you just look at this space? Gorgeous. Simply gorgeous.
They have a random assortment on their menu, but I ordered the tomato goat cheese tart. The crust is so flaky, that the waitress took special care getting it our of the case for me. It was super flavorful and yummy – and that’s saying something because I don’t like tomatoes! They also had the bathroom designed super cute, but I thought that might be taking it too far to take my camera into the bathroom with me!
If you ever find yourself in the area or you’re looking for a new brunch spot, you’ll definitely want to check this place out!
