You’ve seen my tutorial on how to make your own envelopes and liners too, and here is the finishing touch to having your own custom stationary – wax seals!

The last step in having a truly beautiful piece of stationary is how it’s sealed. Wax seals are the perfect accessory to add to any envelope and it makes every piece of postage a work of art. I don’t know about you, but I’d love to receive a letter or announcement adorned like this!

Want to see how easy it is to make your own? Here’s how!

How to Make a Wax Seal

  • Seal/Stamp
  • Wax Beads
  • Wax Melting Spoon
  • Tealight Candle (unscented)
  • lighter
  1. To begin, light your tealight candle and place two wax beads inside the wax melting spoon.

  2. Hold the wax melting spoon over the flame of the candle until the beads are completely melted.

  3. Once it is completely melted, pour the the wax where you'd like it adhered in a single circle shape.

  4. After it is all poured, place the stamp on the wax. Make sure to pay attention to which part of the stamp is facing up so that's facing the correct direction.

  5. Let the wax cool for 3-4 minutes and when it's cool to the touch, remove the stamp. It should come off completely clean.

  6. Clean your wax melting spoon by wiping it down with a paper towel immediately after each use.
