Everything’s Better In The Bahamas (Blue Lagoon Island, Nassau)

Having been to the Caribbean before several times and knowing how much I love the crystal-clear turquoise water, I knew there was nothing more that I wanted to do than sit on the beach with a drink in my hand and watch the world go by. I am a ridiculous multi-tasker, so I knew it would be a struggle for me to just sit there and do nothing, but I was determined to make myself.

Our ferry took us by Atlantis. Did you know they have a Michael Jackson suite that you can stay in for $1000 per night, with a 4 night minimum? Wow.

However after looking at the option in the Bahamas, I was not excited. There were a lot of options of where to go on an excursion while on our Disney cruise, but they were all SO expensive. A day at the Atlantis resort was going to cost me over $200. I don’t think so. SO after looking at some reviews, I stumbled upon the Blue Lagoon Island. It didn’t have all the frills of water slides and pool boys like Atlantis did, but it also didn’t have the price tag Atlantis did either.

We docked at the port, then boarded a ferry boat that took us on a 25 minute ride to the little island. We passed a ton of celebrities homes, like Beyonce and Jay-Z, Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods, and Oprah Winfrey. It was really neat to see how the rich and famous live. Oh, and don’t even get me started on Eddie Murphy’s private island (say what?).

The little island ended up being a great little get away. They served lunch under a pavilion, had beach chairs, dolphin encounters, and water activities available. The only thing I wish they had more of was shade. This white-y can’t handle being in direct sun that long.

Look how clear that water is!
