I love traveling. It doesn’t matter if it’s an hour down the road or ten – sometimes it’s just nice to get away. My latest excursion was about 5 hours from our home to Fredericksburg, Texas. This cute little Texas Hill Country town is filled to the brim with wineries, shops, and B&B’s. It’s a great, romantic place to get away from the hustle and bustle and explore the world around you at a slower pace.
While there, we stayed at this cute bed and breakfast called Cotton Gin Village. It’s on the same property as Cabernet Grill, so it really made having dinner and going back to our cabin super convenient! Here’s a little bit of our experience while we were there…
After checking in, we walked just a few feet to our little Llano cabin for the weekend. It’s an 18th century log home, complete with wood-burning fireplace and rustic decor. On the coffee table, there were freshly baked cookies to welcome us as well. I love little personal touches like that.
The decor wasn’t really my style, but it definitely feet the theme of the location and it was fun to have something different for the weekend.
The space is definitely made for couples who are trying to have a romantic getaway. There’s a jacuzzi tub (that two can easily fit in) and a front porch that would be really romantic to sit and snuggle on. Oh, and they of course had everything there that we would need for s’mores as well.
The best part, I’d have to say, was the breakfast. At around 9am, we had a knock on the door and we found a picnic basket hanging from a hook next to the door. It had a complete HOT meal ready for us to enjoy from the comfort of our pj’s! Breakfast included breakfast croissant sandwiches, pastries, yogurt, fresh fruit, and orange juice. There was also a selection on coffees and a Keurig already in the cabin itself.
I also love it when vacation properties have books for the guests to sign, so we were able to read about the people who had stayed there before us and see where they were from as well.
Cotton Gin Village is also in the process currently of building some bigger two-story cabins for people who want to bring a larger group or their kids.
We had such a great time at the cabin! Now if only I could get them to deliver breakfast to my porch at home every morning I’d be set…
