In a world where we see so much selfishness on a daily basis, it’s always a breath of fresh air when your hear about the good people, companies, and organizations that are out there giving back. We here in Houston saw it a lot after Hurricane Harvey hit our shores, but there are many organizations that give selflessly every day.
As we are a family with two young kids, we thought it perfect that we give where we can in a way that is real for us currently – diapers. I have been changing diapers for the last 5 years. I don’t even want to know what that adds up to in a dollar amount because diapers aren’t cheap, people! So in the spirit of giving, we’re making a donation to the National Diaper Bank Network. This amazing organization takes donations of diapers of all sizes and gives them to families in need. Did you know that 1 in 3 families struggle to provide enough diapers for their children? I don’t even want to think about a heartbreaking and stressful situation that would be for me had I not been able to purchase diapers for my kiddos.
Want to get involved? Kroger is making it easy for you to donate too! For every pack of Huggies Snug & Dry diapers purchased at Kroger stores from now through December 5, 2017, Huggies through its No Baby Unhugged program And Kroger will donate a day’s worth of diapers to the National Diaper Bank Network. Isn’t that amazing? So you buy diapers for your kid AND another kid gets to have a clean bottom for a day! And for those of you mamas who are short on time, it’s a great way to give back to your community and pay your blessings forward.
Lastly, if you know of a family in need who is struggling to provide diapers for their baby or toddler, let them know that the Diaper Bank is there to help them! You can find information on getting a diaper donation here: National Diaper Bank Network here. Texas alone has 18 diaper bank locations giving out approximately 3.4 MILLION diapers a year! But when you break it down, ONE child will use 7200 diapers through their infancy and toddler years. So as you can see, the more diapers that can be donated the BETTER!
