If you are a high adventure kind of person, Eureka Springs is not the place for you. But, if you want a place to breathe in some clean air, see some gorgeous landscape, and take it easy, then this is the place for you!
I’m going to show you the highlights of our weekend getaway there last month.
This is the stunning Thorncrown Chapel . It’s tucked away inside the trees on the side of a hill. What a great place for someone to get married!
We ate a lot of good food on this trip, but my favorite was Oscar’s Cafe . Everything was made from scratch and fresh.
Our stay at the Crescent Hotel was neat too. There was tons of history and old-world charm. Good thing I’m not a superstitious person, because apparently the room across the hall from us was haunted.
These are the dining spaces at the Crescent Hotel. They offered breakfast every morning and brunch on Sundays (complete with mimosas, of course).
I love that they’ve kept the hotel as historic as possible. Sure, a couple things have had to change since 1886, but the history is still there.
We spotted a sign that said ‘scenic overlook’, so we took it. This is what it led us too. That’s our hotel! Neat!
Walking around town you never know what you’re going to come across.
When exploring downtown, we saw this camera painted on the ground. Following the arrow, we looked across the street and it was the most brightly-colored set of rainbow stairs you’ve ever seen!
A short drive out of town is Beaver Lake . You can swim, fish, boat, hike, or even go to an overlook and see the dam.
On the way back to the airport, we stopped in Bentonville, Arkansas. Bentonville is the headquarters for Wal-Mart and the original store is there as well. It has a museum inside the store now along with an old-fashioned soda shoppe . It was really neat to see how one man’s vision could produce such a huge, international corporation.
Bentonville is a cute town filled with funky shops, breweries, and the day we were there – a dog-friendly farmer’s market.
