Game Day Spicy Buffalo Chicken Sliders

I’m just going to go ahead and say it…the game day snacks are the best part of the biggest football game of the year.

You know it’s true. No matter what two teams end up going head to head in the big game, there is always a group of people staring at a TV screen and looking forward to all the game day food.

And why shouldn’t they? Game day appetizers are perfect for grazing and snacking all game long. So whether you’re invested in every call the referee makes or you’re just there for the halftime show and commercials, I’ve got the perfect recipe to answer the question, “What is the perfect snack for watching the big football game?”

When you want to get all the essentials, you have to head to Walmart. They have great prices on food, décor, and even some team shirts! Don’t forget to pick up your Dixie Ultra® Paper Plates while you’re there so that clean up is even easier! These bold, sturdy paper plates won’t leave you with a mess on your hands. And since we’re all doing things a little differently this year, why not try a new recipe instead of that same old cheese dip or wings.

While you’re on the paper plates aisle, make sure to pick up some Sparkle Pick-A-Size paper towels, Vanity Fair Extra Absorbent Napkins, and Dixie To Go Cups! When it’s game time, the last thing you want is to have that spicy buffalo wing sauce running down your arm without a Vanity Fair Extra Absorbent napkin to clean it up with. And the Sparkle Pick-A-Size paper towels are perfect for cleaning up small and large messes alike! Just choose how many rectangles you need based on your spill size.

But my favorite might be these Dixie To Go insulated cups. They come with a lid, so they’re perfect for coffee or hot tea. But you could also think outside of the box and serve single-serve portions of soup, chowder, or chili in these non-slip grip cups of joy – plus, the sayings on them are hilarious.

Now let’s get your snack table ready to watch the game…it’s recipe time!

Buffalo Chicken Hawaiian Sliders

Print Recipe Pin Recipe
Prep Time 10 minutes mins
Cook Time 15 minutes mins
Total Time 25 minutes mins
Course Appetizer, lunch, Snack
Cuisine American
Servings 8 servings, 1 slider per serving

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup light sour cream
  • ¼ teaspoon LEA & PERRINS Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 ½ pounds ground chicken
  • ¼ cup hot sauce
  • ¼ teaspoon poultry seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • 1 pinch cayenne pepper or to taste
  • 4 KRAFT American Singles cut in half
  • 8 Hawaiian sweet rolls
  • 4 leaves iceberg lettuce
  • ½ cup diced celery

Instructions

  • Heat an outdoor grill to medium-high heat and lightly oil the grate. If you would prefer to cook indoors, heat a large skillet over medium heat on your stovetop.
  • Stir the sour cream and Worcestershire sauce together in a small bowl; set aside.
  • Mix the ground chicken, ¼ cup hot sauce, poultry seasoning, paprika, and cayenne pepper together in a mixing bowl until evenly blended. Form into 8 ¾ inch-thick patties.
  • Cook the chicken burgers on the preheated grill 6 to 7 minutes until well marked. Spray the uncooked top of the burger with cooking spray, and flip the burgers over. Brush the cooked side with 1 tablespoon hot sauce, and continue cooking until no longer pink in the center and the juices run clear, about 5 minutes more. An instant-read thermometer inserted into the center should read at least 165°F. If cooking inside on a skillet, cook 4 minutes per side on medium-high heat. Add a slice of cheese on top of each burger patty. Allow to melt (this should only take about 20 seconds).
  • To assemble the sliders, place a lettuce leaf on each bottom bun. Top with a burger patty, then spoon on 1 tablespoon of the sour cream sauce, and 1 tablespoon celery. Place the top bun on top to finish the sandwich.
Keyword burger, Heinz, slider, teriyaki
