I don’t know about you, but I have a MAJOR sweet tooth. I love anything with sugar in it, but especially chocolate. There’s just something about that chocolatey goodness that I find myself needing a little of daily. That’s why I was so excited when GATSBY Chocolate reached out and requested that I sample and review 3 of their chocolate products. And who am I to turn down chocolate?
GATSBY Chocolate sent me three different chocolates to try – Sea Salt Extra Dark Chocolate Bar, Almond Dark Chocolate Bar, and Milk Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups. Let’s get into what my family thought of them…because after all, if mama is eating chocolate, the others will come sniffing around to get some too.
Milk Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups
My husband has always been a fan of peanut butter cups, so when I told him we had some new ones in the house to try, he was all over it. The peanut butter cups look pretty much identical to the more commonly known brand’s except these don’t come in a paper wrapper and are a little bit thinner. The taste resembles the more commonly known brand, but it’s a miss in the flavor.
Almond Dark Chocolate Bar
This dark chocolate bar with almond was my son’s favorite. He stated he liked the crunch of the almonds and the creaminess of the chocolate. There also was a good ratio of almond to chocolate, so you got a little bit of almond in every bite.
Sea Salt Extra Dark Chocolate Bar
This was the bar I was most excited to try. I love a good dark chocolate bar and it’s always made even better when there’s added sea salt on top. When we tried this one, it was actually spit out. It was that bad.
Over all, the chocolate was kind of a miss for all of us. It has an off-putting aftertaste to it. After looking at the ingredients list – it shows the first ingredient is Allulose – which, I’m assuming is a sugar substitute. It’s just not great.
About GATSBY
Chocolate itself has been around a very long time. So what makes GATSBY Chocolate different? Doug Bouton created GATSBY Chocolate in an effort to create a chocolate experience that is lower in calories and better for you – just like he did as co-founder of Halo Top. After all, we sweets lovers want to still enjoy our sweets but be responsible with it. In fact, GATSBY Chocolate products have two to three times less calories than comparable products.
