Cheese. I love it. There’s just no way around it. And I’m pretty sure I can work cheese into almost any recipe. But there’s a reason why fruit and cheese have such a long history together – it’s delicious! Sweet fruit combined with tangy, salty cheese is a match made in heaven – especially in this recipe for goat cheese stuffed figs.

Figs are definitely a fruit I’ve grown to love over the years. They’re delicious right off the tree, but when they’re roasted, they’re heavenly. So if you’re looking for a fall or Thanksgiving appetizer idea, this is the one to do! They’re simple to make, look fancier than they are, delicious, and they doesn’t have to be served hot.

Here’s what you’ll need to make them:

Goat Cheese Stuffed Figs

Sweet fruit combined with tangy, salty cheese is a match made in heaven – especially in this recipe for goat cheese stuffed figs.

  • 6   Medium-sized Figs
  • 2 ounces Goat cheese
  • 2 Tablespoons  Walnuts (chopped)
  • 1 Tablespoon  Sage (chopped )
  • 2 Tablespoons  Honey
  • Salt And Freshly Ground Black Pepper (to taste)
  1. Cut off the stems of the figs and make an ‘X’ cut in the top of each fig halfway through.

  2. Stuff the figs with soft goat cheese using a teaspoon. Sprinkle some chopped walnuts and sage over stuffed figs and drizzle with honey. Add salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.
  3. Broil for about 5 minutes or until they look soft and release juice. Serve warm or cold with a glass of wine. Enjoy!
