Right now, we’re in the thick of crawfish season, which I absolutely love, but there is nothing better than summer barbecues in the backyard with friends! Recently, I was given a cookbook that is fast becoming one of my favorites – Texas BBQ: Platefuls of Legendary Lone Star Flavor has some delicious recipes with a nod to our southern neighbors.
With recipes like spicy grilled wings, chipotle-cilantro slaw, and rajas con queso, you really can’t go wrong! And they also include some yummy deserts like tequila lime pie and cinnamon ice cream. Oh, and the best part? It’s now available for purchase – like – starting today!
I made their recipe for chipotle grilled corn (page 137) and it. was. amazing.
Disclaimer: I am afraid of the grill. I don’t really know why. So I bought this awesome cast iron griddle that goes over the burners on my stove. I believe it only works with a gas stove (don’t quote me on that), but I love that it’s reversible, so I can make pancakes on one side and grill on the other.
Everything truly is bigger and better in Texas!
Here are the items I referenced above.
