Oh fall, how I love thee. The crispness in the air, the pumpkin flavored everything, and everyone turns into a host or hostess. There really is no better time to invite people over and enjoy a meal, cocktail, and good conversation.
But knowing where to start with decorating your home is a whole other issue. Want to know my number one tip for fall decor?
Decorate for the season and not the holiday. That seems simple, right? But I’ll tell you it’s easy to go to the store and see lots of Halloween or Thanksgiving specific decor and want to take it all home. But this time around, why not go with some fall foliage? Leaves, warm toned tablecloths, pumpkins of every size, shape, and color – these things just scream Fall and will carry you through all season long.
Decide what you direction you want it to go – rustic with burlap and wood? Or how about more upscale with long taper candles and gold flatware? Then, choose your colors – I would pick no more than three. After that, let loose and have fun with it! I can’t wait to see what you come up with!
