The flower covered everything movement has been around for a little while and I am OBSESSED with the gathered foliage look. It’s flower crowns and wild bouquets and all things natural, elegant, and free-spirited. But by far, my favorite thing is the greenery table runners. Gosh, they add so much life and color to a table and are oh so elegant!
But you don’t need a florist to pull of this look! You can make a beautiful design just like this one and I’m going to show you how. And even better – you’re going to pay less for it than you will the food at your next event! Here’s how to pull it off:
- Go outside. That’s right. You are going in your back yard, your friend’s front yard (make sure they’re okay with it), or whoever you know that has trees that need to be trimmed and start trimming. You will need branching about 2 feet in length. The ends of the trees where the branches are smaller and closer together work best. I personally used my pecan tree for this one, but I love big, leafy green magnolia trees as well!
- Lay the branches on your table in a line. You’ll weave them in a bit so that you hide the ends that you cut with another branch.
- Lastly, buy a few stems of any color flowers and place them in the less dense areas of the greenery you laid out. I chose to use colors that would match the honeycomb party package that I was working with. Add some candles if you like and you’ve got a centerpiece that is sure to wow your guests!
See? Now how easy was that? I know you can do it! Have fun with it!
