What’s for Dinner this week? Meal Delivery in Houston! (and a coupon for you to try it too)

November 14, 2017

There are definitely days I don’t want to cook. Heck, there are weeks I don’t want to cook sometimes. So when My Ice Box reached out to me and said they were bringing dinner a couple nights, I jumped for joy! This Houston-based delivery company generously offered to send me two meals for my family. I chose the Cilantro Chicken and the Meat Lasagna.

This is the Cilantro Chicken. It comes as two chicken breasts vacuum sealed in a box with ice packs. I paired it with some rice and carrots, but you could add pasta or mashed potatoes to it too and it would be just as good. This was my favorite of both the meals. My kids couldn’t get enough of it! The sauce was tangy and flavorful and even though it comes packaged with a couple jalapeno slices, it’s not spicy (unless you eat the actual jalapeno).

The other meal we tried was the meat lasagna. It’s not your typical lasagna. As you can see, it has a white sauce instead of the traditional red marinara sauce. I  really liked it, but my kids did not. I think they’re just used to the other kind of lasagna and couldn’t wrap their heads around this different take on it. You almost have to approach it like you’re eating a pasta dish and not what you would think a lasagna is like. The portion size is huge. Myself and my two kids ate what the company called “two servings”.

If you’d like to try this meal delivery service for yourself, they’ve given me a $20 discount code for your first order! Use hfbclove to get your discounted dinner tonight! And if you do try it, let me know what you think!
