My husband and I bought our first home together 7 years ago and we’re still in it. We’ve made some adjustments and additions to the house in the time that we’ve been here, but one area that has been neglected has been our backyard. I’ve been so uninspired with it. BUT after a recent trip to Joseph’s Nursery, in Pearland, TX, I’ve finally got my mojo working and we’re going to make our backyard into a place where we want to be (instead of a place we avoid).
I won’t be revealing the backyard’s full transformation yet, as it’s still a work in progress, but I did want to tell you about an experience I had while getting plants this week. You see, we decided to add some magnolia trees along the fence line and when it came time to go shopping, I headed to Joseph’s Nursery. They’re a wholesale nursery in Pearland, TX that I’ve bought plants from before.
I was looking at getting the 30 gallon magnolia trees, and they were $120 a piece there. Just to see if that was a good price, I went over to Houston Garden Centers to check out their selection as well. The same size trees over at HGC was $500. I couldn’t believe it! What a price difference! And the quality of all the plants just looked so pitiful and sad compared to the ones at Joseph’s! Needless to say, you know where I got the trees from.
I can’t wait to show you the finished product! But the moral of the story is that just because they’re bigger, doesn’t mean they’re better.
