It’s no secret that Tennessee is a beautiful state.

After all, there’s the Great Smoky Mountains stretching across the state with its towering mountain landscapes and lush, beautiful trees.

Right there in the middle of it all is Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. If you’re ever close by, driving through on a family vacation during Spring Break, or just need a place to relax in a cabin surrounded by tons of scenic beauty, then this is the place.

A while back, my friend was living just up the road from Pigeon Forge in Tennessee and I went to visit her. We had the greatest time catching up as she showed all the sites and explored her new town. We drove the Great Smoky Mountains, experienced life inside the Titanic, and saw the weird (but cool) experience that is Wonder Works.

What I love most about Pigeon Forge is 1) the scenery but 2) that it has something to offer every age. So take the whole family, take a girls trip, go hiking with the guys, or enjoy a romantic getaway!

Spring Weather in Pigeon Forge

A great time to go to Pigeon Forge is in the Spring. The weather is mild and perfect. It ranges from 36 degrees to 78 degrees between the months of March through May, so it’s a great time to go after the snow has gone and before the summer heat begins.

Where to Stay

Dollywood’s DreamMore Resort & Spa

Want to stay on Dollywood property? This is the place to do it! The DreamMore has spacious guest rooms, indoor and outdoor pools, meeting spaces, exclusive transportation to the parks, and a full-service spa.

Music Road Resort

This hotel features over 160 spacious rooms and suites with private balconies overlooking the Little Pigeon River and Great Smoky Mountains. Don’t worry about cooking, because a hot breakfast is included in your stay!

Black Fox Lodge

This resort has it all! A full service bar, free Wi-Fi, casual dining restaurants, meeting spaces, and a resort-style pool are all available. They have it all covered!

 Great Outdoor Cabin Rentals

Looking to get away? These cozy cabins are perfect for relaxing in the wilderness! They offer panoramic views that you can enjoy right from your very own hot tub. Talk about a great way to unwind! I even found some coupons for 10% off your stay here.

Places to Eat in Pigeon Forge

You know I love me some food, so of course I had to check out what Pigeon Forge had to offer in the way of food.

Dolly Parton’s Stampede

This is definitely the most popular dinner option. It’s a live action dinner theater with a rotisserie chicken dinner with all the fixin’s. They also offer a gluten-free and vegan “feast” if you have certain dietary restrictions. If your family loves horses, then this is the show for you.

Pirates Voyage

If your kiddos are more interested in swashbucklers and mermaids, the Pirates Voyage dinner show will be a hit with them. This set menu features everything from creamy vegetable soup to a peach turnover, so you won’t leave hungry!

Old Mill Restaurant

If you’re not into dinner shows and just want to eat and get on with the fun, I suggest the Old Mill Restaurant. And if down-home cooking is your jam, make sure you get the chicken-fried chicken, pot roast, and pecan pie.

Things to Do in Pigeon Forge

There’s a ton of activities in Pigeon Forge! So whether you want to embrace nature, get a history lesson, or enjoy some high adventure, there’s something for you there.

Wonderworks

This place is just straight up neat! Let your imagination soar as you enter this topsy-turvy world of imagination, science, and fun.

Titanic Attraction Museum

Iceberg ahead! When you’re driving down the road, you can’t miss this place! After all, it’s a giant boat parked on the main street going through Pigeon Forge!

Once parked outside, you really get a feel for just how big the real ship was! And then once you get inside, you get to experience it.

In fact, they don’t just teach you about the days of the Titanic, but you get actually walk inside it. When you arrive, you’ll be given a card that describes who you have now become on board the Titanic. Will you live to see another day or will you go down with the ship?

Dollywood

While you’re in Pigeon Forge, you should, no, must visit Dollywood – especially if it’s in the Spring. After the snow has thawed and you need a place that is close by with great entertainment options, Dolly Parton’s theme park is where it’s at.

Just like Dolly’s music, this place has stood the test of time and just keeps getting better! There are shows, festivals, performances, thrill rides, and fun for the whole family!

Dollywood Hours & Schedule

Dollywood is officially open each year from late March through early January. But check their website for your specific travel dates to be sure before you travel.

Dollywood Rides & Attractions

You will want to ride the rides available at Dollywood. They’re awesome! They have rides available for kids of all ages, so no one is going to feel left out. I also like knowing height requirements before I visit a theme park (so I know which rides my kids can actually go on), so I’ve included a list of the rides available here by height requirement:
