Say it with me now…steak and potatoes. Is there anything more hearty? I think not. Now what if I told you I made them both in the same pan at the same time and there was virtually no cleanup? Well, get ready sister because that’s exactly what I’m saying!

I’ve been on a kick lately for one pan meals. It just makes me so happy to have the whole meal (protein and side) come out hot and ready at the same time and keep the dishes to a minimum.

This one pan meal of steak and potatoes is sure to be crow favorite. The steak is seared to perfection and those roasted potatoes you’ll want to pop in your mouth like candy.

So let’s make this thing…

Sheet Pan Steak & Potatoes

This one pan meal of steak and potatoes is sure to be crowd favorite. The steak is seared to perfection and those roasted potatoes you’ll want to pop in your mouth like candy.

  • 2 top sirloin steaks (patted dry)
  • 2 lbs red potatoes (diced)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper (to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder (or dried minced garlic)
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed chili pepper flakes
  • 1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan (for garnish)
  • 2 tablespoons chopped parsley leaves (for garnish)
  • 2 cups caramelized onions
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (180°C). Lightly oil a baking sheet or coat with nonstick spray.
  2. Place halved potatoes in a single layer onto one side of the prepared baking sheet. Add olive oil, garlic, and Italian seasoning; season with salt and pepper, to taste. Gently toss to combine. Transfer into the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, until golden brown and crisp, tossing occasionally.
  3. In the meantime, prepare the spice mix by combining salt, black pepper, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, paprika, Cayenne and chili pepper flakes in a small bowl or shallow plate. Season steaks by rubbing the spice mix on both sides.
  4. When potatoes are ready, remove from oven and switch to broil mode. Place seasoned steaks onto the opposite side of the prepared baking sheet
  5. Place back into the oven and broil until the steak is browned and charred at the edges, about 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness. For thinner cuts of steak, simply broil on one side only.
  6. When done, sprinkle potatoes with parmesan and fresh chopped parsley and serve directly from the sheet pan, along with the caramelized onion. Enjoy!

You can pre-cook potatoes by boiling them for 3-4 minutes before baking.
