Everyone has their own chili recipe, but if you’re in the market for a new one, this is the recipe to try out. It’s a little sweet, a little spicy, and a whole lot delicious.
Here’s the recipe:
Sweet and Spicy Beef Chili
- 3 tablespoons chili powder
- 1 tablespoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon cocoa powder
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
- ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
- ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- 3 pounds lean ground beef
- 1 15 ounce can crushed tomatoes
- 1 15 ounce can petite diced tomatoes
- 27 ounces canned red kidney beans
- Combine all seasonings (except for brown sugar) in a bowl and mix well.
- Over medium high meat, put the ground beef in a large dutch oven. Sprinkle the seasoning mixture over the top and cook the meat until brown and break it into small pieces.
- Add both the tomatoes, brown sugar, and red beans to the meat.
- Bring to a boil, stir frequently and let simmer 30 minutes.
- Salt to taste.
