December 21, 2021
Sweet and Spicy Lean Beef Chili with Beans

Everyone has their own chili recipe, but if you’re in the market for a new one, this is the recipe to try out. It’s a little sweet, a little spicy, and a whole lot delicious.

Here’s the recipe:

Sweet and Spicy Beef Chili

  • 3 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon cocoa powder
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 3 pounds lean ground beef
  • 1 15 ounce can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 15 ounce can petite diced tomatoes
  • 27 ounces canned red kidney beans
  1. Combine all seasonings (except for brown sugar) in a bowl and mix well.
  2. Over medium high meat, put the ground beef in a large dutch oven. Sprinkle the seasoning mixture over the top and cook the meat until brown and break it into small pieces.
  3. Add both the tomatoes, brown sugar, and red beans to the meat.
  4. Bring to a boil, stir frequently and let simmer 30 minutes.
  5. Salt to taste.
