I’ve always wanted to create a post about the dessert table.
You know the one. It’s that fabulous table (or end of the table) at potlucks that you can’t wait to get to. You’ve already loaded up your plate with the rest of the Thanksgiving goodies like turkey, mashed potatoes, and green bean casserole, but you left a little sliver of plate still peeking through just for that slice of cake…or cookie…or pie (or all of the above).
Or are you the person that makes a few rounds? No judgement. I’ve been there too. Sometimes there’s just too much goodness on that Thanksgiving food table to get a little of all of it the first time through.
So let’s get to it. What’s on your Thanksgiving dessert table that you look forward to?
If you’re looking for a few new ideas for desserts, I’ve got you covered. Here’s a few of my favorite Thanksgiving desserts to get you started.
Pumpkin Pie.
This is a staple all holiday season long in my family. In fact, I made these yummy pumpkin pie squares for the first time this year, and they were awesome! You can try the recipe for my pumpkin pie bars here.
Nuts.
Sometimes, guests would rather have a more savory dessert than sweet one. This is why I include sugared nuts on the table. They’re great if you just want a little something, but nothing too filling. Here’s the recipe if you’d like to make these candied pecans.
Cake.
Cakes come in all different shapes, flavors, and colors. It’s an easy option to take a super cute cake (like this one from Wink By Erica) to any holiday get together – and is perfect if you’re running short on time or just not a great baker in general.
Pretzel Rods.
These things are so darn easy to make, it’s ridiculous. And if you like that salty/sweet mixture in your mouth, you’ll love this recipe for caramel covered pretzel rods!
Cupcakes.
I know, I know, it’s Thanksgiving. But hear me out on this one. They’re easy to serve. Kids love them. And you can make them your own by using any flavor, color, or topping. For these, I used my toffee macadamia nut recipe and they’re amazing.
