Pretty much as soon as there was sliced bread, there was toast. In our grandparents’ day, the quick morning breakfast was toast with butter. Or maybe if you were fancy, toast with jam.

Then came along the toast of my childhood – cinnamon toast. This weekday morning treat was buttered toast with cinnamon and sugar sprinkled on top.

The modern day toast, of course, is avocado toast. You can’t go to any hipster breakfast spots without spotting a variation of this tasty toast on the menu. It’s surprisingly filling and gives you the good fats you need to start your day of right. But how can we improve this toast that’s already a hit?

My vote? Protein. I always need to have some sort of protein in my breakfast in order for me to not be ravenously hungry later on in the morning. Strips of bacon would be nice, but I need a little more convenience in my life for weekday mornings. Enter the boiled egg. But who has time to boil an egg every morning? Not me, that’s who! So I opt for store-bought Almark Cage-Free Hard Boiled Eggs available at Sam’s Club. I know what you’re thinking…”Pre-boiled and pre-peeled eggs? That can’t taste good.” But they do! And they’re super convenient! Plus, they come in packages of two, so you don’t have to open a large package only to use one or two eggs a day.

These eggs are perfect for snacking, topping your breakfast toast, or adding to your salad at lunchtime. And right now if you purchase the Almark Hard-Boiled Eggs 12 pack at Sam’s Club, there’s a $2 Ibotta offer so you can save money while you’re at it!
