I hate showing up empty handed going to someone’s home. In fact, I won’t do it. I would rather not go than to show up and look like I didn’t contribute anything. But I’ve found that hostess gifts are not a one size fits all kind of thing. So here I’ve compiled a list of the best things you could take to someone who has opened their home to you.
Drink Up
A bottle of wine. Add a monogrammed kitchen towel, wine glass pens or a pretty tag and it’s a classic (and easy gift)
Sugar
Make a batch of caramels and box them up. This is my all time favorite gift because 1) it’s sugar and 2) it looks like you took the time and effort to think of someone. Try this easy microwave caramels recipe for a quick and easy treat!
Don’t forget Fluffy
People love their pets. So chances are, if you get something for their dog or a sign that has a cat on it that looks like theirs, they’re going to love it.
Stationary
I love pens and paper of all kinds, so anytime gets me some of that, I’m happy. Plus, it’s useful.
Something Personal
If you know the person really well, get them something that actually want. Now, this will take a bit more planning ahead, but chances are you can find the perfect gift if you just look.
