There are certain smells that remind me of the holidays.
The smell the heater in my house makes when I first turn it on for the season. The smell of a fresh Christmas tree. And the smell of warm roasted nuts coated in cinnamon and sugar.
All of these smells give me a feeling of warmth, comfort, and being “home”. Over the years, I’ve expanded on a few different classic recipes that we make as a family, and this year I’m changing up the nuts.
Instead of our traditional sugared pecans, I’m using some already delicious macadamia nuts and coating them in sticky toffee goodness. These nuts may be the start of a new tradition…
What Can I Use Toffee Macadamia Nuts With?
These sticky and sweet nuts are so versatile! You can put them on ice cream, on top of cakes and cupcakes, mixed with fruit, sprinkled over sweet potatoes, or just by themselves.
What Ingredients Should I Use?
Signature SELECT Dry Roasted & Salted Macadamia Nuts
These delectable nuts are lightly salted and perfect to eat right out of the bag. And the health benefits for these nuts are numerous! They’ve been proven to be high in antioxidants and promote brain health. One study (Everyday Health, 2017) stated that you should eat at least 15 whole macadamia nuts a day for optimum health benefits…but if you make this recipe, I can guarantee you won’t stop at 10 nuts!
O Organics Honey
The amazing thing about honey is that the bees who produce it will use pollen from the area around it. Got orange trees near your beehives? Your honey will have a slight citrus taste. So, if you want to get a taste for a region, try the local honey!
Honey is also a super versatile ingredient for cooking, baking, and everything in between. This O Organics Honey has been used to sweeten my hot tea in the mornings, glaze roasted carrots, and make these delicious sticky toffee nuts.
Signature SELECT Parchment Paper
This parchment paper is used almost daily at my house. I use it to line cookie sheets before cooking chicken nuggets or cookies, and it’s the best way to keep these toffee nuts from sticking to a baking sheet.
Where do I Find the Ingredients?
I purchased all of my O Organics and Signature SELECT ingredients for these tasty nuts at my local Randalls.
You can also find these brands in your area, at a value, exclusively at the Albertsons Companies family of stores, including Albertsons, Safeway, ACME Markets, Jewel-Osco, Vons, Pavilions, Tom Thumb, Shaw’s, Star Market, United Supermarkets, and Carrs/Safeway. You can visit Randalls.com to find a store near you. And while you’re there, be sure to check out their meal prep tips and recipe ideas as well!
The best part about shopping at my local Randalls is the online savings. I love creating my shopping list online, adding my digital coupons, and making things easier on myself for when I’m actually in the store (especially if I have the kids with me).
While I’m not spending much time in store lately, Randalls has made some awesome accommodations to their shopping experience – like special shopping hours for seniors and keeping the shelves stocked. Randalls also offers Grocery Delivery and DriveUp & Go™ for convenient ways to shop! I love using this feature when I have my kids with me so I don’t have to get them in and out of the car. I just order online, show up at my scheduled time, and a store associate puts them in the car. So easy!
