While Valentine’s Day is not one of my favorite holidays (I’m not exactly sure why), I do love a good craft project. So I decided to help My little guy’s teacher with the decor for their Valentine’s Day class party. And what says pre-school better than a paper chain? But this is no ordinary chain – oh no – this chain is all heart.
This is one of those projects where you’re like, “why didn’t I think of this sooner?” Because how simple to make it is and festive it is at the same time! Here’s how to make it:
What You’ll Need
- Different colored/patterned 12×12 size paper cut into half inch strips (I used blush pink, gold, black, and white patterned papers)
- stapler
Step One. Take one strip of paper and fold it in half, lengthwise.
Step Two. Take the two ends and bring the patterned/colored sides together, stapling them together.
Step Three. Repeat the steps above, interlocking the hearts until you’re happy with the length of your chain. I chose to make several individual chains about 3 foot long, so they could hang from the ceiling of the classroom.
Have fun making your heart chains and I’d love to hear how yours came out!
