Valentine’s Date Night Checklist

Valentine’s Day is often intimidating for people. There’s so much pressure put on us these days to plan “the perfect date” complete with roses, an expensive restaurant, and sparkly jewelry. But if you ask me, my favorite days of love are those spent with the ones I love. A meal at home with a few personal touches is all the romance I need. If you’re looking to jazz up your Valentine’s Dinner at home, here’s a few tips to help you pull it off!

Pick a Theme. I went with “Love is In the Air” this year. I also wanted to go with something a little more manly than pink or red, so I opted for the Pantone color of the year – Ultra Violet.

Decor. I went with the super easy and popular air planes! My son helped me make some too, so it not only helped me with some decor, but also kept him busy for a few minutes until he lost interest. If you’re not sure how to make a paper airplane, you can see a few examples here.

Music. Stick with your lover’s favorites. They’ll be touched that you thought of them and put their preferences first. And we can always use more brownie points, right?

Food. Nothing says love like Italian food, and do I have the recipe for you! This creamy garlic butter Tuscan Shrimp recipe is perfect for showing your honey just how much they mean to you!

Lighting. Candles are always a good idea. Lights overhead are way too harsh and don’t quite set the right mood. Dim lighting is always best.

Drinks. Whether it’s a bottle of Champagne or a aluminum can with root beer in it, make sure you have your sweetheart’s favorite present. But if you’re looking to do something a little different, I have the perfect drink for you! The “Love Bite” has a fun name, but it tastes even sweeter!

Game. How about adding a little fun to your date night? This year, I’ve compiled a Love Note, Mad-Lib style! It’s sure to give you a giggle and make your heart swoon at the same time!

A Gift. Don’t forget to show your honey how much they mean to you. If you;re shopping for a guy, I’ve compiled a great list of ideas for what to get the man in your life!

I hope you have the best Valentine’s day and share it with someone you love!
