Baked Brie with Fresh Cherries

Ingredients
  

  • 1 baguette sliced
  • 1 small 13.4 ounce round of brie
  • 1 cup fresh cherries pitted and halved
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon balsamic vinegar
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1/4 cup almonds sliced

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Place the bread slices on a baking sheet and put it on the lower rack in the oven for about 7 minutes (or until lightly browned).
  • Place the brie round on another baking sheet and put it on the middle rack in the oven for about 14 minutes. (heating both at the same time is a great time saver)
  • While those things are baking away, heat a skillet or cast iron pan to medium high heat and add the cherries, honey, balsamic vinegar, and salt. Bring it to a boil, stirring occasionally, until the juices are slightly thickened (about 10 minutes).
  • Transfer the brie to a serving platter and top it with the cherry mixture. Sprinkle the almonds on top and place your toast slices around it for serving.
