Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Place the bread slices on a baking sheet and put it on the lower rack in the oven for about 7 minutes (or until lightly browned).
Place the brie round on another baking sheet and put it on the middle rack in the oven for about 14 minutes. (heating both at the same time is a great time saver)
While those things are baking away, heat a skillet or cast iron pan to medium high heat and add the cherries, honey, balsamic vinegar, and salt. Bring it to a boil, stirring occasionally, until the juices are slightly thickened (about 10 minutes).
Transfer the brie to a serving platter and top it with the cherry mixture. Sprinkle the almonds on top and place your toast slices around it for serving.
