I love introducing my kids to new flavors. And what I love even more is when I don’t have to by 10+ different sauces or ingredients to be able to create something new for their tastebuds!
I found a recipe a while back that I wanted to try and it – no joke – had 12 ingredients in order to make the completed sauce. No thanks. Don’t get me wrong, I’m sure it was delicious, but I’m not a fan of buying a bunch of bottles of weird sauces that I’m mot likely never going to use again.
It’s all About the Sauce
That’s what I was so excited to find this stuff – Soy Vay sauces. For the recipe I’m showing you today, I used the Hoisin Garlic Sauce (because YUM), but they also have some other amazing sauces like Veri Veri Teriyaki, and Orange Ginger.
We’ve been buying his stuff for years because it just makes life so much easier! While the kids are eating their breakfasts in the morning, I pull out some meat and a bottle of marinade, get it in a zip top bag, and get it marinating in the fridge so that later that evening I can just pull it out and cook it.
What I am love about it is that it’s a two-fold sauce – it can be a marinade or you can use it as a dipping sauce. Chicken skewers dipped in this Soy Vay Hoisin Garlic Sauce would make a great appetizer for any party!
If you’re wondering where you can find this delicious bottle of goodness, they’re available at HEB stores.
Let’s Get Cookin’
Creating the perfect Asian dish couldn’t be simpler with this tasty recipe! Hoisin garlic marinated chicken is placed inside crisp lettuce and topped with crunchy red cabbage and wonton strips. Now this is how you do taco night right!
Hoisin Garlic Chicken Lettuce Wraps
Ingredients
- 1/2 bottle Soy Vay Hoisin Garlic Marinade & Sauce
- 2 lbs chicken breast sliced thin
- 8 romaine lettuce leaves
- 1/2 cup red cabbage chopped
- 1/2 cup wonton strips
- 1 fresh pineapple sliced
Instructions
- Place the sliced chicken and Soy Vay marinade in a ziploc bag and let marinate for at least 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
- Heat a grill (or skillet) to high heat. Place the chicken on the grill and cook for a couple minutes on each side. If cooking in a skillet, add a tablespoon of oil to the pan. Once hot, add your marinated chicken in batches. Don't overcrowd the pan or it won't cook correctly.
- Place the romaine lettuce leaves on a plate and fill it with the chicken.
- Add to the top of it the red cabbage and wonton strips.
- Serve with a side of the pineapple and enjoy!
