Whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
Mix the butter in the dry mixture using a pastry cutter. The mixture will be crumbly.
In a separate small bowl, combine the cream, egg, and vanilla. Add the wet ingredients to the flour mixture and stir until just combined.
Knead the dough slightly on a floured surface. Add the berries to the mixture and knead just enough to mix the berries throughout the dough.
Form the dough into an 8" round circle, about 1 1/2" thick. Cut the circle into 8 pie-shaped wedges.
Place the wedges about 2 inches apart on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Brush the tops with egg wash.
Bake in a 400 degree oven for about 20 minutes, or until nicely browned.
